King of flavour in every bite
We started with one spit in Vrbas. Today there are five of us.
Arthur Gyros makes chicken gyros and nothing else. No burgers on the side, no fifty-item menu where half the dishes rarely get ordered. One dish, in a few shapes - and all the attention goes into it.
You can see that decision at the counter. You choose a shape, not a dish: a tortilla, a Greek pita, a box or a platter for two. After that it's a question of how hungry you are - 80, 120 or 150 grams of meat.
If you'd rather skip the meat, there's a vegetarian tortilla with sweetcorn, fries and salad. If you watch what you eat, the same filling goes into a wholegrain or protein tortilla. For children there's a smaller meal with a juice and a surprise. Underneath it all, it's the same gyros.
The chicken goes into a marinade, then onto a vertical spit. It roasts slowly, turning the whole time, and it's carved only once someone orders. That's why the edges are crisp and the middle stays juicy - meat that sits pre-carved loses both.
Fries, spreads and salad go in with it, and the tortilla or pita is grilled before it's wrapped. Nothing is assembled ahead of time or left waiting under a lamp. That's why you sometimes wait a minute longer than elsewhere.
The packaging is paper and built for eating on the move, rather than for carrying to a table and falling apart there.
We work at two addresses in Novi Sad - on Bulevar oslobođenja and in Telep - as well as in Temerin, Vrbas and Bečej. The recipe, the portions and the prices are the same everywhere, so a gyros in Bečej looks and costs the same as a gyros in Novi Sad.
Every shop takes card payments, with no minimum spend. The Novi Sad shops also deliver through Wolt and Glovo, and the Bulevar oslobođenja shop is open around the clock.
We open new places slowly, and only where we can hold the same standard. When it happens, it goes on Instagram first.
